OUR EXPERIENCES

PUPIL VOLUNTEERS:

“We met a man called Terry, he was every excited and told me lots of things about his life. He had an upside to everything and loved a laugh….They all got stuck in, they all felt confident and had a laugh with us. I feel proud to have helped people and represented the school”

“The best thing was the satisfaction I felt at the end of helping them and seeing how happy they were when they saw their final design and what they had achieved”

“I think making people happy through doing art is rewarding, and it is great that we are running a scheme that people look forward to”

PARTICIPANTS:

“We get all the help we need from you and your excellent little helpers– we’re learning all the time”

“I never thought my owl would turn out like this when I first started it, it looks professional.  I’m really pleased with myself, it’s got pride of place on my bedroom windowsill”

“Oh I love it, we do lots of different things….keeps your mind active, I felt really proud when we had the  exhibition at Bury Art Gallery”

STAFF / COMMUNITY VENUE PARTNERS:

The residents are able to use their hands in a positive manner as this in turn leads to stimulation of their minds. Just having children on the premises has a positive effect”

“The sessions have been a breath of fresh air and have been hugely enjoyed by the participants. The pupils are very patient, sympathetic and they are excellent little helpers”
